7/19/2023 Wednesday - Free time, Coliseum

Started the day with free time. Went to Santa Maria della Concezione dei Cappuccini. It was not my cup of tea, but when in Rome! It was a tour through the crypt with headphone. Pictures were not allowed but the link is above. Walked back to Trevi Fountain, pistachio gelato this time, by the Pantheon as well. Line was probably an hour and half long to go inside. Decided against it.

The Coliseum was next so much information, it’s incredible to see. Max is such a great tour guide, and not bad to look at either! He is writing book about gladiators. I will look for that later this year or early next year.

Pat and Al joined me for dinner at Fiaschetteria Marini. About a 10 minute walk from hotel a Zoxer friend that lives in Verona selected the place for me, made the reservation, and gave me recommendations for my meal. I will be meeting her, Giorgia, her mother, and 6 y/o daughter on Tuesday in Padua. The food was very authentic and not touristy at all. Only Italian menu too! Delicious!

Ciao!
